It has been about 3.5 weeks since I received my Leica MP. Leica customer service was amazing to ensure that I got it really quickly (more on it in my last post ). The camera is gorgeous and built robustly. As a lot of people have posted lengthy thoughts and reviews on how well built Leica M camera bodies are, no need to go further into that. The process of taking pictures is very smooth. Camera fits nicely in hand, viewfinder is bright and the focusing path is easy to see. I tried two lenses with it so far - Zeiss Sonnar 50 1.5 and Leica Summicron 50. Summicron was a new acquisition; I bought it used but in like-new condition. It is the silver chrome DR version. I had heard that the lens was heavy but I was still surprised to hold it in the hand. It is smaller than the Zeiss but feels like it weights a lot more, as if it were made of lead.
